Annie Lennox (born December 25, 1954) is a Scottish singer, songwriter, political activist, and philanthropist, best known as one half of the pop duo Eurythmics and for her acclaimed solo career.

Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Lennox studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London before rising to fame in the early 1980s with Dave Stewart as Eurythmics. Their innovative blend of synth-pop and soul produced global hits such as "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", "Here Comes the Rain Again", and "Would I Lie to You?".

In the 1990s, Lennox embarked on a successful solo career with her debut album Diva (1992), featuring chart-topping singles like "Why" and "Walking on Broken Glass". Her work has earned her multiple Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Into the West" from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Beyond music, Lennox is recognized for her humanitarian work, notably her advocacy for HIV/AIDS awareness through the SING Campaign. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2011 for her charitable efforts.
