Michael Faraday (born September 22, 1791 – died August 25, 1867) was an English scientist who made groundbreaking contributions to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry.
Born in Newington Butts, England, to a humble family, Faraday had little formal education but rose to prominence through his brilliance and dedication. Apprenticed as a bookbinder, he educated himself by reading scientific texts and went on to work with renowned chemist Humphry Davy.
Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism, and electrolysis laws, laying the foundation for many modern technologies. His experiments with electricity and magnetism directly led to the invention of the electric motor and transformer.
