Sting (born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, October 2, 1951) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the frontman and bassist of the rock band The Police and for his successful solo career.
Rising to fame with The Police in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sting helped produce global hits such as "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take." His distinctive voice and blend of rock, pop, jazz, and world music shaped the band's unique sound.
